Help for Haiti

If you haven’t already donated toward the crisis in Haiti, I would like to suggest that you make your donations through the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). Often, UMCOR is the first organization on the scene of a disaster. You can be assured that 100% of your donation will go directly to the people of Haiti. I am providing the following link if you choose to donate online:

http://secure.gbgm-umc.org/donations/umcor/donate.cfm?code=418325&id=3018760.

You may also send your donations to New Day UMC, PO Box 2125, Mansfield, TX 76063. Please write “UMCOR Haiti Emergency” on the memo line of your check and we will forward your donations to UMCOR.

Thank you so much for your compassion and help for God’s people in Haiti!

New Conversation Groups

Wow! It seems like forever since I last wrote something here. It’s been a busy few weeks! Since I last wrote, I have served at the Union Gospel Mission on Christmas Eve, celebrated Christ’s birth with my family, led a few worship gatherings, spent my wedding anniversary with Kindergarteners through 6th graders at Kids Night Out, rang in the New Year with my husband (can you believe I fell asleep before midnight?), and spent a week in New Orleans at the Congress of Evangelism. Now I’m looking forward to the kick-off of 2 new Conversation Groups.

Check your calendar and try to join us the next 6 weeks either on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. or Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m. You can find more details (like the location and a map) by clicking our website calendar. These are great opportunities for you to meet new people and make new friends. I hope you’ll consider joining us.
